A warm welcome to all our visitors I'd like to introduce myself to you.
My name is Flavia. I was born and bred in a big city and have always worked in an office, but all the time I was dreaming of coming to live among these green hills and run a guesthouse where I could offer accommodation within a warm, friendly environment and share the beauty of the scenery with my guests.

I have always loved travelling and have often stayed in family-run guest-houses, especially abroad, preferring to experience the life and customs of the local inhabitants at first-hand rather than be an anonymous tourist in a large hotel.

After drawing up numerous plans and equally numerous changes to these plans, I finally came up with this one and showed it to Andrea, my husband. He shared my enthusiasm and gave me carte blanche for the project together with his full support. Andrea proved to be an invaluable partner in the project, proposing changes and new ideas to the initial plan as well as working with me on the practical side.

And so we started to look for a suitable house, and the opportunity came almost immediately. Two very close friends of ours were selling a farmhouse where for 15 years they had lived with their three children and entertained many friends.

The farmhouse was built in the 1700s. It was a stock farm and the only house in the area that did not belong to the church. Of course, the structure of the building has been changed many times over the years and we have made even further changes. We have, however, remained true to the original architectural criteria, making only those changes necessary to suit today's lifestyle which is not as simple as that of the farmers of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. For this, we would like to thank Franco, our architect friend and all those who have worked with us to help make our dreams come true.

We are now ready to welcome you and to introduce you to the environs of Turin and to the city itself.

As for me, well, I'm a vegetarian and I love animals (we share our home with two cats and a dog). My interests are varied, especially in the field of art: I have a diploma in singing and for many years have sung in choruses and quintets as well as singing solo, specialising in music up to the eighteenth century and contemporary. I like painting in watercolour (I learnt via the Steinerian method), drawing and writing short stories. In the summer I like to go mountain trekking, whether it be a just a walk or a climb up the glacier. In winter I go cross-country skiing and swim.

My husband Andrea is an excellent mountaineer and an expert downhill and cross-country skier. He knows every stone in Valle d'Aosta and plays the piano and the harpsichord. He has a degree in Political Science, is interested in politics and economics and works as keeper of the archives of an important daily newspaper. He is also an expert geographer and cartographer and will help you draw up itineraries for your discovery of the area. But be warned, he is a perfectionist and won't allow even the smallest detail to escape him!

We will be happy to have you as our guests. Our house is at your disposal. You can stay one night or stay a couple of days to rest from your daily routine. You can go on excursions in the surrounding countryside or visit the city of Turin. If, on the other hand, what you're looking for is a peaceful setting for group activities such as meditation or yoga, there is a garden and a large room of about 70 square metres. There are three guestrooms, including one on the ground floor with a private bathroom which is also suitable for disabled persons.

Your pet dogs will be welcomed, as long as they are kept under control, of course. I wouldn't like them to go chasing my cats who are now getting on a bitÉ!

I will be happy to give you a good breakfast made of local products, including jams and honey that is collected just behind our house.
Thank you for visiting our site, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
Flavia
